Chelsea keeper Begovic admits lack of playing time 'bugs' him

The Bosnian shot-stopper had been hoping to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, but must now see out the season
Asmir Begovic has aired his frustration at a lack of competitive minutes at Chelsea, with the Bosnian revealing that a support role at Stamford Bridge “bugs” him.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper joined the Blues from Stoke City in the summer of 2015.
He was aware of the presence of Thibaut Courtois in west London, but opted to take on the challenge of competing with the Belgian for starting duties.
Begovic did make 25 appearances in all competitions during his debut campaign with Chelsea, with 17 of those coming in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte Home Alone
He has, however, filled back-up duties under Antonio Conte this season, with all five of his outings coming in domestic cup action.
It was suggested that he could be on the move during the January transfer window, with Bournemouth among those to express an interest in acquiring his talents.
Conte, though, refused to sanction a sale unless adequate cover was brought in and with no arrivals at Chelsea, the deadline passed without any movement.
Begovic is disappointed to be stuck in the same position, but insists he will continue to give his all to the Blues's cause as they chase down the Premier League title.
He told talkSPORT: "I think it [not playing] bugs every professional.
Asmir Begovic
"The thing that keeps me going is lifting silverware and being in a successful side.
"It bugs me but In terms of moving clubs it's not an option at the moment.
"I know my role in the team and the leadership I can bring. I am fully committed to the team until the end of the season."
